Anonymous has set their sights on the Founder of Terraform Labs Do Kwon

In their newest video, posted on June 26th, they claimed that Kwon was single-handedly responsible for scamming investors out of billions of dollars and addressed him directly, saying: “there is no doubt that there are many more crimes to be discovered in your trail of destruction.”

Giving Attention to Terra’s crash

In their newest video, Anonymous made clear their opinion on Terra’s crash, which had a devastating effect on the entire crypto ecosystem. The video was posted on the Anonymous youtube channel, which has 287K subscribers. At press time, the video had 31,617 views.

In reference to the collapse of the Terra (LUNA) and TerraUSD (UST) ecosystem in May, the group determined that Do Kwon should be held fully responsible. Anonymous addressed Kwon directly, repeatedly reminding him of the long list of accusations levied against him, including cashing out $80 million each month from LUNA and UST before its collapse, and the previous crash of stablecoin Basis Cash, which was also founded by Kwon.

“Do Kwon, if you are listening, sadly, there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage that you have done. At this point, the only thing that we can do is hold you accountable and make sure that you are brought to justice as soon as possible,” pledged the hacktivists.

Anonymous criticized Kwon’s arrogance as he patronized critics. The hackers assured Kwon that they had been following every step of his journey since he entered the crypto space, and that they were ready to expose all of his crimes.

“Anonymous is looking into Do Kwon’s entire history since he entered the crypto space to see what we can learn and bring to light,” the group stated. “There is no doubt that there are many more crimes to be discovered in your trail of destruction.”

Anonymous is known for being a decentralized, international activist and hacktivist movement originating in 2003. The group is primarily known for its various cyberattacks against governments, government institutions and agencies, corporations, and the Church of Scientology.

Mixed Reactions from the Community

Despite outlining their apparent threat against Kwon, the video failed to reveal any new information on the Terra case that hasn’t already been covered by the media. Furthermore, the group did not speak on any  next steps in bringing Do Kwon to justice.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the community has had mixed reactions to the video. While some commentators on YouTube and Reddit praised Anonymous for being the “Robinhood of today” in seeking justice for those affected, many raised doubts as to whether the group ever delivers on their promises.

Some even lambasted the video as childish: “Sorry, I can’t take anon seriously with random HTML tags floating around on his face,” a commenter said on Reddit. “I miss anonymous. Is this not just like watching the news? It’s basically just saying they are investigating this. Well so are a lot of people. I’m pretty sure this guy owns a computer, laptop phone, or even a server. Can u not break the passwords of anything anymore? Where are the real anonymous players? R.I.P.” commented another viewer on YouTube.
